KOUYOU is an iPhone-App that connects augmented reality and location-based services to a new kind of global marketing. Hello IT once again put an innovative interaction- and design-concept from our partner think moto very successfully into practice. The App has been developed for the German Designer Club and was presented on the IMM Cologne. It also appears on the Design Made in Germany-Website.

An excerpt from the description of the App:

KOUYOU is a poetic augmented reality app that allows people to write notes on Japanese maple leaves and blow these across the globe. The Explore mode lets you collect the leaves around you. In Map mode you can browse messages on a world map. The app makes us of iPhone functions like camera, microphone and compass and connect with facebook and google maps.
Kouyou is the Japanese term for autumn leaves, which can be seen a lot in autumn in Hokkaido. Besides, maple is one of the important wood materials for the furniture production in Asahikawa.
The idea is build on the intention of the global:local project: to build connections between people in different regions in the world.

Try it out! KOUYOU is now available in the AppStore:
